Cabinet Philips Defibrillator

The Philips AED cabinet features allows access to the defibrillator in the event of SCA with an alarm to prevent theft of the defib. The Philips Heartstart Aed itself provides real CPR Help that provides you feedback while you do CPR. This smart gadget tells you to push harder if you are not doing sufficient pressure, it tells you to push faster if you are not pushing at the desired rate. If you are pushing with accurate pressure, the voice prompts will advise you with Good Compressions feedback. Aside from that, it also shows you real time depth of each compression. When heart compression halts, the Onsite Aed prompts you to continue it.

It is the best device in its category and is perfect for helping all victims of sudden heart attack.  It features one-piece pad for quick and accurate placement of electrodes as it is of vital importance when doing defibrillation. ZOLL AED Plus is also the only AED which is powered by less expensive batteries which are not only easy to replace but are readily available too. The lithium camera batteries can be purchased from most department and electronic stores. So, save the victims of sudden cardiac arrest with good quality ZOLL AED products.

Focus areas on Phillips Heartstart AED cabinet protocol are the use and care of Automatic External Defibrillators suggestions and warnings, procedures to use AED, medical guidelines, AED maintenance process, and reporting procedures. You can contact Philips for additional info and help in knowing more about AED protocols. This post discusses some important AED protocols that must be followed.

·    Certain routines should to be followed for adult CPR, such as ensuring if the scene is secured, taking care if the victim is lying on a flat surface and that he is not lying face down. The responder then needs to know if the victim is breathing normally or else CPR is required.

·    For using Automatic Defibrillators, the rescuer is required to turn on the Heart start AED and follow the voice prompts. The next step is to put pads, and care must be taken that pads meant for a child are not used on adult and the other way around. The proper disposition of pads is also important and the rescuer can readily know how to secure the pads exactly by seeing the picture on the packaging.

·    While delivering shock, it is responsibility of the responder to make sure that nobody is touching the patient including the responder himself as the electric shock may be potentially fatal. If the FR AED shows that no shock is needed, then the rescuer is required to perform CPR only. The responder is required to follow the same steps in case the victim is a child except he should remember to attach the pads meant for child and not an adult.

A individual of any age group and fitness level may become a victim of sudden cardiac arrest. In case of a cardiac attack only half of the victims require a shock; others need CPR or Cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The purpose of CPR is to maintain flow of oxygenated blood to brain and other vital organs. Earlier, CPR involved chest compressions and artificial respiration or mouth-to-mouth. In March 2008, American Heart Association supported that adult victims of sudden cardiac attack needed only chest compressions without any artificial respiration.

5 Ways to Prevent Tooth Decay

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

Tooth Decay is a location on a tooth where so much of the tooth’s mineral content has been dissolved away that a defect of “cavity” has formed. Any surface of the tooth that is exposed to oral cavity can experience tooth decay but not the structures within the bone. Tooth decay is a disease that all people have to avoid. Here are five ways to prevent such:

– Fluoride Therapy. It is the delivery of fluoride to the teeth topically or systemically in order to prevent tooth decay (dental caries) which results in cavities. Intake of tablets or drops is usually done for flouride supplementation. Tablets or drops are rarely used where public water supplies are fluoridated.

– Brushing your teeth. Any Cincinnati dentist would say that the most important part of tooth care happens at home. Regular dental checkups and daily brushing and flossing are required to keep teeth healthy. Dentists say that brushing thrice a day is optimal in keeping teeth healthy and strong.

– Regular checkups with your dentist. Seeking professional advise is the most important step in dental health. After studying for years, nobody is more knowledgeable about teeth than dentists. You have nothing to worry about if you’d let them handle your dental problems.

– Dental sealant. It is the dental treatment consists of plastic material that covers one or more teeth, for preventing of cavities and tooth decay. They are usually applied during a visit to the dental clinic.

– Dietary snacks. It is a good idea to limit sweet snacks as excessive use of sweets alters your blood sugar. Completely avoiding snacks is a no-no since you’ll be depriving yourself of nutrition for that period. Good snacks should include healthy proteins and fats.

People often see a person’s teeth especially for those who smile easily so it is best to take care of them. Displaying the best white smile, we have to admit, can be one of our greatest features. It is very important to seek these guidelines if we want to maintain the best smile in our face.

Surprise, You Need a Special Dental Treatment Today!

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

One day I was informed by my hygienist that I needed a Scaling and Root Planing (SRP) treatment. Since that fateful day when I declined treatment and looked for my own solution, I have written a book and have learned a great deal about stopping the progression of gum disease and preventing it from coming back.

The unfortunate reality is that many people have this problem and do not realize it. One day, a tooth or multiple teeth may become loose and that is how many people discover the disease. Often the dentist will want to pull teeth and install implants or dentures.

As a patient and consumer I was left very dissatisfied with two important factors. One, the dentist let this problem progress without giving me any viable way of stopping it. Two, she waited until things got out of hand to tell me I needed this ’special’ treatment.

I certainly do NOT suggest that you reject your dentist’s treatment plan. I am merely stating that was a personal choice that I made – and it paid off. However, everyone’s situation is different and you need to seriously consider your doctor’s plan and if you are not happy, go get a second or even third opinion.

A little known fact (with consumers that is) is that you can go to three different dentists and get three very different opinions about what needs to be done. This is a fact that practicing dentists are aware of. However, I have never had a dentist tell me this – I found out for myself. Since then, I discovered that this phenomenon has actually been studied and documented.

The use of the hydrofloss may be helpful for those who do not respond to brushing and flossing (which is the majority of people). These simple techniques are what we have always been taught about prevention since we were children. However, if they really worked, up to 80% of the population would not be suffering from this dental disease, would they?

Oxygenated, pH balanced, Therabreath mouthwash may be helpful as well.

Finally, essential oils, like oramd oramd can help. However, you must still focus on the daily disruption of plaque.

Therefore, do not fall in to the trap of believing that you are a victim of poor dental hygiene. That could be the case for some people. But, again, brushing and flossing are not enough to prevent problems in the majority of people. Do not blame yourself too terribly, you are not alone.

All of this means that you should take the time to educate yourself about dental health and what works beyond the basics that everyone already knows about stopping gum disease and other dental problems.

Is Bleaching the Best Method of Home Teeth Whitening?

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

Teeth whitening is more than a fad, it's a multi-billion-dollar industry that will see more than 10 millions Americans spend over (an estimated) billion this year. Teeth whitening is by far the most common cosmetic service provided by dentists right across America , and the sales growth in mail-order and over-the-counter products has surged on a massive scale. But are brilliant white teeth really achievable? Is teeth whitening safe? Does it hurt? What is the best method? Can you do it at home? These are all very common questions, and in general you will find the answers to be: Yes, Yes, Not normally, (arguably) Bleaching, Yes. Whiter teeth can be achieved via a number of different methods, both at your dentist (or professional teeth whitening office) and at home. In fact, many dentists actually perform the first one or two treatments, then get you all kitted-up so you can do the rest at home. but that’s for the ‘bleaching’ methods, there are other avenues you can travel down in your quest for whiter teeth that involve structural changes to your teeth, like ‘bonding’ and ‘porcelain veneers’.

Bleach-based teeth whitening products all basically have the same goal – to penetrate deep into your tooth enamel to rid it of stains. Tooth enamel is porous, so brushing and scouring products don’t work, and this is where bleach-based tooth whitening products come into play. You see the most effective methods actually use bleaching chemicals to penetrate deep into the tooth enamel. They set off an oxidising process that breaks down the staining compounds in the enamel leaving you with bright white teeth. Sounds simple, but there are many products on the market that fall short of promises. Most over-the-counter products only ever manage to whiten teeth marginally, while the more professional products can provide you with extreme changes to the whiteness of your teeth. The entry-level teeth whitening product would be a whitening toothpaste. Some people have demonstrated a slight improvement in brightness, but because a toothpaste isn’t exposed to your teeth for very long (you only brush for a few minutes), they typically are not able to penetrate deep enough to have much effect.

Whitening Strips are thin, flexible pieces of plastic that have been coated on one side with a thin film of hydrogen-peroxide bleach (normally 6-10% strength). They are pressed against the top and lower teeth and normally need to be worn for 30 mins (twice daily) for 7-14 days. They do work, but because they cannot get into all the nooks and crannies and gaps between teeth, the results can sometimes be blotchy and less desirable than anticipated. Getting more serious, we have bleach-based tooth whitening products which will involve a tray being placed in your mouth that has been injected with a ‘bleaching’ solution (hydrogen peroxide). This procedure can be done at home or by your dentist, or by a combination of dentist / at home. You can buy cheap over-the-counter 'boil and bite' trays that are virtually ready to use out of the packet. You boil the tray to get it hot and mouldable, place it in your mouth and bite into it.

Parental Advisory: Dental Awareness About Children’s Teeth

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

Parents are always mindful when it comes to their children’s health. From simple colds, fever, wound infections, and a lot more. They even monitor how many teeth are already coming out. As the child reaches toddler stage, parents set dental care awareness because children are likely prone to tooth decay if  they do not practice proper oral hygiene.

We are all familiar with how temporary teeth start in children. Actually, we all do.  However, it does not mean it is less important just because it’s temporary. Other than helping them chew their food easily, temporary teeth hold a valid reason on why they stay where they are.  They save the space or area for the permanent teeth.

Once the baby tooth is lost at an earlier stage – either to decay or accident – there is a tendency for the teeth beside it to drift to one side and create an empty space. When this occurs, there might not be enough space for the permanent teeth to occupy. This will result to crooked or crowded teeth which needs to be re-aligned in the future using braces. However, braces do not appeal to everyone because of the discomfort of wearing them.

With children’s tooth decay, sometimes infection occurs from decayed baby teeth that may harm the permanent teeth developing underneath. Cavities may not result to immediate pain but sometimes your kids might be hurting at some point without you knowing it. You need to pay attention on how your kids are feeling whenever they say something related to their teeth.Remember that untreated dental cavity tends to get worse and may reach a level of severity where root canal or tooth extraction will be the solution to the dental problem.

The above dental scenarios are quite common to parents, which is why there are preventive measures designed by dental specialists to address these issues. To avoid unwanted dental pain in the future, parents just need to implement these measures properly or monitor the children’s dental habits and hygiene.

[More about low cost dental plans]

Moreover, try and find the limitations of your low cost coverage. If you need to visit the dentist because you have a gum or teeth condition, you might want to take advantage of a comprehensive plan instead.

Another option that most people also go for would be to ask for quotes by calling offices. Even if this doesn’t require you to travel, it can still be annoying to have to explain what you need to every agent you speak with.

Thus, the best thing to do would be to look for low cost dental coverage online. Using the Internet is quite easy and simple. All you need to do is type in your keyword inside the search bar of any major search engine.

Within second, you will get a list of sites that offer free quotes. Just choose from the given list and obtain the quotes.

When done, compare your results and narrow it down to one or two providers. Call them up and inquire or ask any questions you might have about the policies that they offer.

Once you have their answers, you can then decide which company offers  the best low cost dental plans and go with them.

Do Something Positive For Your Business With Dental Case Presentation

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

In this day and age it is important for a dentist to have “Dental IQ.” This has to do with knowing the patient, particularly their financial abilities. It has been determined that most patients will complete a treatment plan for 00 or less. However, once the tab goes over the 00 mark patients start to have second thoughts.  This knowledge is important for improving dental practice coaching.

Dentists have their own unique dental case presentation way of presenting their diagnosis to each patient. They can do the analysis and then suggest or recommend the best treatment plan to preserve the oral health as well as present a healthy set of teeth.

One assumption some dentists makes it that the patient will listen to the diagnosis and then follow the treatment plan the dentist suggests. It is assumed that a patient will base the decision to have the work completed based on what may happen in the future if the treatment plan is not followed. The issue here is the fact that the dentist may assume the work will be done simply on his/her recommendation. This assumption leaves out key components of the patients’ life such as the patient not having the money, no dental insurance, fear, or other factors that contribute to the patients’ decision.

Most dentists agree that patients will agree to a treatment plan of 00 or less. This is because it does not cause too many hardships or inconveniences. The more expensive the services the more chances the patient may decline the treatment plan, or stall and postpone the treatment.

The dentist, therefore, needs to gather some information and learn more about each of his/her patients. It is important to understand, upfront, the concerns the patients has. It is important to know the patient’s situation in regards to finances and if there is dental insurance. This will, in the end, save time for everyone involved.

Dentists are now being educated in ways to deal with these different situations. Other considerations they need to know and understand include evaluating how dentistry will fit into the patients’ life. Will it be an inconvenience or cause problems? The dentist needs to know about their financial abilities, health issues, and so forth. Personal knowledge, such as a newly divorced patient or one that is recently married, a new job, the birth of a baby are all key factors in order to evaluate the patients.

Once this information has been accumulated the compilation is referred to as the “fit factors.” Basically, this simply involves the dentist getting to know and understand each patient as well as understand their living situation. Once this data is collected it allows a dentist to meet the needs of each patient.

Now we have “Dental IQ.” We have a dentist who has learned enough information about his or her patient so that there is an understanding of how dentistry will fit into her or his life. It allows the dentist to know, beforehand, what kind of procedures s/he should follow in the future. The dental case presentation is important to the success of your business.
